Phone Call from Santa

Yesterday at work, I was just sitting at my desk when my cell phone rang. I looked at my phone to see that it was my coworker, Carolyn, calling. Carolyn sits at a cubicle about, oh... 5 feet away.

Why was Carolyn calling you ask? Well, it wasn't actually Carolyn at all.

It was SANTA! hahahahaha It was Santa with the most hilariously awesome phone call ever. There are a surprising number of options you can select for various parts of Santa's message to really personalize the phone call.

After I got off the phone with Santa, Carolyn and I created a phone call for her boss. As the computer generated the phone call, we ran down the hall to his office to see the reaction when he answered a phone call from Santa at work.

We seriously had so much fun with this yesterday! I sent one to my boss after that, but he was not in his office, so it left him a Santa voicemail! hahahahaha We thought it would have been funny to send one to our bosses using their boss' phone number, so it would show up on their phone as being from him, and when they picked up the phone expecting to hear from the boss man, it would have actually just been Santa. We didn't do it, but it would totally have worked because it isn't like there is any notification that goes out to the "from" phone number you enter. It just shows up from that person on the receiver's caller ID.

It is definitely worth trying out. You can create a phone call and simply preview it for fun if actually sending one isn't your thing. Anyway, here is the link:

Has anyone else already sent someone a Santa phone call? Or been on the receiving end?

Time for a study break!

I have not really been able to blog much lately due to my increased amount of study time. I was off work this past Friday, so I had three full days of study time right before my exam. Jake surprised me with some more orange roses and enough Diet Cokes to last me through the weekend, and he was nice enough to leave me alone most of the time so I could study. We did manage to have Dustin over for some good times on Friday night, and we were able to meet Mandy, Stephen, Nicole, and Jason for dinner last night before they head off on their cruise, but other than that, the weekend was mostly filled with studying. And whining about studying, I'm not gonna lie. But, I am happy to announce that today at 1:17 pm, I finished my first part of the CPA exam (Business Environment and Concepts)! Now, the rest of this week I can focus on helping Jake finish moving his stuff over here and get ready for our beach vacation! But first, we are going to a movie this afternoon! I am trying to decide between the following: The Hangover, Julie & Julia, The Proposal, The Time Traveler's Wife, and The Ugly Truth.

Here's to hoping I passed the exam!

Life is Good!

For Father's Day, Jake's dad wanted some Life is Good lounge pants. However, Jake couldn't find any before Father's Day that his dad didn't already have, so he ended up having to order some for him. Now, I've always been a fan of the Life is Good clothing, and may have mentioned in passing that I wanted some Life is Good stuff, too. Then I forgot about it. Until yesterday.... when Jake surprised me with a Life is Good keychain with a heart on one side that he ordered for me with his dad's pants. How excited I was for this unexpected little surprise! I came right home and put my keys on it!

Isn't it cute? I love a good surprise from time to time. And in a few hours, we head up to Washington D.C. to celebrate the 4th of July holiday. Life certainly is good.
Interesting tidbit: The Life is Good face shown on the keychain above (and on every Life is Good item) is named Jake. Who knew?

Surprise!

While I was in Charleston, Jake looked after my cats, and when I got home, there was a beautiful orange surprise waiting for me! And they smelled good, too.
